Hot Toys | The Dark Knight | Batman

I'm a huge fan of Batman. I am by no means an expert, but the character resonated with me even when I was 3 years old and watching the Superfriends. I fondly remember saving his pages for last in my coloring books. I even remember watching the campy TV program at my grandparents' house. He was THE character I grew up with, even if I didn't know about his dark origins. He was just so cool. It was the Hot Toys Batman figures that really got me involved in the 1/6 scale figures. I think it's fairly obvious I hold this figure as one of my prized figures. Continue Reading

Custom: The Dark Knight Trilogy | Lucius Fox

Behind every great here is a great... tech provider. At least in the case of Batman. Bruce Wayne was very selective in his allies and Lucius Fox was essentially his left-hand man with Alfred being the right. Fox provided Batman with all the tech and weaponry in his vigilante crusade to rid Gotham of crime and corruption. Although he was essential in the comics, the character was never exposed on the big screen until Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy. Continue Reading

Hot Toys | The Dark Knight Rises | Bane

For Batman, that was Bane, a ruthless mercenary who, in the comic book world, was the first to break the Bat. Hot Toys quickly announced their intentions to make figures based on the movie The Dark Knight Rises and for me, Bane was a highly anticipated figure. Continue Reading

Medicom | MAFEX | Batman

I have a love/hate relationship with Medicom. They used to be a company I really liked because they produced some really nice things. A long time ago. These days, I'm not impressed. At all. They seem to rely on their name recognition instead of continuing to produce high quality items which is quite unusual for a Japanese company that has been around for a very long time. So when I got interested in their MAFEX line, I was hoping that they had turned the corner. Continue Reading

Custom: Batman Begins | Ra’s Al Ghul

Sometimes it's better to be late to the dance. Most Batman and 1/6 scale fans had already created their own custom Ra's Al Ghul. Some where fantastic while others made me scratch my head. It's blatantly clear that it starts with a good head sculpt and if that's not up to snuff, it's almost futile to try. But if you wait long enough, you may just find what you were looking for.
